Frequently Asked Questions...

Q. I am building to the Code for Sustainable Homes, what is the most appropriate ventilation system to use?

The Code for Sustainable Homes does not specify ventilation systems, but does require SAP and DER (Dwelling Emission Rating - Carbon) ratings to meet specified levels, therefore any ventilation system can be used providing that these and the requirements of Part F are met.

Presuming that one system provides better SAP or DER ratings than another is misleading as there are so many other build elements factored in to the calculations. It is often possible to achieve more affordable improvements to SAP and DER ratings by using alternative build elements rather than more costly ventilation systems choices.
